Vastadu Naa Raju Movies Reviews

Narsimha (Prakash Raj), a rowdy in the city works for Home Minister Adi Keshava Rao (Sayaji Shinde). Adi Keshava Rao son Ajay (Ajay) loves Pooja (Tapsee), sister of Narsimha.Adi Keshava Rao fixes his son’s marriage with Pooja. The marriage will be personal benefit to Adi Keshava Rao while political benefit to Narsimha.

Venki (Vishnu), son of Tanikella Bharani has only one ambition, to become a boxing champion. He doesn’t believe in girls or love. However, series of events made Pooja family and Venki family believe that there is a love affair between them. In real, Venki and Pooja don’t know and never talked to each other.

The whole misunderstanding lead Narsimha to attack Tanikella Bharani bakery shop and break the engagement of Venki sister. After few scenes, Venki kidnaps Pooja to settle the score with Narsimha.

What did Venki do to the kidnaped Pooja? Is there any love between Venki and Pooja? If there is love, are they successfully married breaking the engagement with Home Minister son? Go and watch the movie to know all these questions.
Performance

Vishnu slim physique is not suited well for a boxing champion role. His face looked dull and no energy in the performance. Vishnu had tried hard to imitate dad Mohan Babu in dialogues but nowhere near. Definitely need to work on his dance movements.

Tapsee gave same expressions for every scene. Other than exposing her Navel in songs, she didn’t justify her selection.

Prakash Raj performed this kind of role umpteen times. Sayaji Shinde is regular. Tanikella Bharani under utilized. Brahmanandam comedy is weak. Surekha Vani, Satya Krishna, Ajay justified their roles.

Jeeva, Narsing, Shiva Reddy, Rajesh, and Ali are for the namesake.
Technical

Debutant director Hemanth Madhukar lived up to his debutant tag. He showed his in experience in every single scene. He needs to work heavily on his screenplay. Storyline of the movie is not bad, but script and screenplay killed the movie.

Manisharma music is good. All songs are good for listening. Rerecording is a big letdown.Cinematography is very poor. Lack of dancing ability by lead pair reflected in the songs picturisation. Action scenes are composed average manner. Editing is poor. Even production values are not high standard.
Analysis

In the first place, ‘Vastadu Naa Raju’ title is not apt for the film. One doesn’t understand who is waiting for whom in the movie. There is no story in the entire first half other than songs and forced comedy. Real story starts just before the interval, but never really took off. It runs with slow pace testing the patience of the audience.

Forced comedy between Brahmanandam and Surekha Vani, Ajay calling Prakash Raj wife (she is sister to Ajay in relation  to club should have avoided.  No song is situational and all the songs are forced to break the snail pace of the movie.

Overall, Vishnu has to wait for his next movie to prove his mettle as hero. ‘Vastadu Naa Raju’ is below average movie, which may not appeal to multiplex and A center audiences. It is run in B, C centers are also doubtful.
