SPRING GLOVE GLAM

Amy-Jo Tatum Bridal/Photo by Stephanie Williams Photography

Whether crocheted shorties or long, opera length lending that aspect of drama—gloves are glamorous and really tie a bridal look together. Luckily there are no rules anymore about what sort of gloves you have to wear with your gown. You can go with the classic white and ivory or jazz up your look with any length, color, texture, even pattern as you can see below. Just as some brides are showing some pizazz wearing different color shoes with their gown, glove color is an option you have as well. Go ahead, be adventuresome!

HAIRRIFIC!: THE TREND TOWARD HAIR ART

There's a trend toward innovative hairdressing whether you opt to ditch the veil or not. Once you've found your wedding dress, topping off your look is typically the next detail to dressing the part. Not every bride feels right doing the veil, some are going for smaller headpieces, hats or wearing nothing at all. For those of you skipping the cake top template of hairstyles, we have some innovative looks from hairdresser Kathie Rothkop of Salon Glam in Novato, California.  "I get inspired by the style of the gown and type of woman wearing it.  Then there's the time of year of the wedding, says Kathie. "I put women in 4 categories. Sporty, classic, romantic and edgy. A sporty woman would want hair very simple, probably short and tailored. Her wedding dress would be stream-lined. Classic would be very traditional, maybe a french twist, no ornamentation. Grace Kelly was a classic beauty. Romantic is my favorite. Lots of bling, flowers, height, softness and curls. Goldie Hawn and Katherine Zeta Jones are good examples of this. Edgy is non traditional, Lady GaGa really is this look."

A long braid dappled in Stephanotis.  This is the romantic look Kathie mentioned.

A little 1960s Mod Chic! This wired, white ribbon weaves in and out of Lauren's bun forming ringlets. Great pair up for most any wedding dress- even short and mini styles.

More Swinging Sixties Mod!
Above and below:  Vintage glam with long hair Marcel-waved and tucked under.  Added Stephanotis is the perfect accent . . .

Got long locks? Flaunt it with half up and half down hair sprinkled with white Stephanotis.
This loose upsweep is accented with fresh Star Royal Magnolias, the perfect compliment to any destination wedding.

Go full bird feathers and all  The hair is long and loose with tiny braids interwoven at the crown. Stunning with sheath and evening gown wedding dress styles.

DELECTABLE

For all those folks that claim my hats look good enough to eat, today the treat's on me.  If you have a sweet tooth for concoctions whipped up in poufs and froths, enjoy these visual pastries served up on platters.  I like to think of hats as topping off a look just like desert punctuates a good meal.  Bon Appetite . . .

Most of these hats can be found in my Etsy Shop.  If you see a style you like that's not listed contact me via amyjotatum@gmail.com or ring 415.258.8204

THE CHIC REPORT

Not exactly a new feature but just wanted to make sure you don't miss out on all the great editorials we've done this season and all the seasons that have gone before us.  Check out the side bar where you'll find a link to The Chic Report.  After premiering on the Bride Chic Blog, each editorial feature will migrate to a permanent page and link.  This means if there was something you liked it will be easier to keep checking back for reference.  Pictured above is the lovely Sujan photographed by Stellar Q. Danielo for the upcoming editorial, 'Meet Me in the Park' a showcase of images by San Francisco photographers of my gowns, set against the gorgeous backdrop of Golden Gate Park.  The interesting textured wall Sujan walks alongside here is the facade of the De Young Museum, one of a few park landmarks we captured . . .

INSPIRATION SUNDAY

The Lady In Pink

Me thinks
Pink is her favorite color
In which, she is
So elegantly dressed.
She is the grand dame, in
Pink sweater,
Pink skirt,
Pink coat,
Pink hose,
Pale shoes
And pink pearls clipped in her
Perfectly coifed
Champagne colored hair
And diamonds in her smile.
