WINTER FEET

As anyone who lives in a cold clime can attest, winter can be murder. Slush, snow and rain are all hard on the feet if you're not wearing boots. Okay, so, some of these may not officially be boots and more like peep-toes but bear with me. Whether you want to wear boots under your gown all through ceremony and reception or just traveling point to point, I found a few worth checking out that definately have chic factor.

Sophisticated. Pearly sandals with platform, Pura López.

Baroque booties with gold ruffles by Christian Louboutin.

Minimalist. Leather boots with platform heels and dark wood of Stuart Weitzman.

Laced shoes with organza flowers on the tops by Fosco

THE BRIDAL VEIL

WE'RE married, they say, and you think you have won me,--
Well, take this white veil from my head, and look on me;
Here's matter to vex you, and matter to grieve you,
Here's doubt to distrust you, and faith to believe you,--
I am all as you see, common earth, common dew;
Be wary, and mould me to roses, not rue!

Ah! shake out the filmy thing, fold after fold,
And see if you have me to keep and to hold,--
Look close on my heart--see the worst of its sinning,--
It is not yours to-day for the yesterday's winning--
The past is not mine--I am too proud to borrow--
You must grow to new heights if I love you to-morrow.

I have wings flattened down and hid under my veil:
They are subtle as light--you can never undo them,
And swift in their flight--you can never pursue them,
And spite of all clasping, and spite of all bands,
I can slip like a shadow, a dream, from your hands.

Nay, call me not cruel, and fear not to take me,
I am yours for my life-time, to be what you make me,--
To wear my white veil for a sign, or a cover,
As you shall be proven my lord, or my lover;
A cover for peace that is dead, or a token
Of bliss that can never be written or spoken.

A BEAUTIFUL FIND!

I have to say I do love this trend that hints at structured inner-wear from the 1950s.  This creation by Ravit Design  is based on the bustier or Merry Widow.  The hand-worked and crystal beaded florals are stunning . What do you think . . . .?

SUZANNE FOR KIDS

 French fashion designer Suzanne Ermann brought out a super-chic line of kidswear last season and I thought it's about time I introduce you to this timelessly elegant and surprisingly innovative line for little girls size 2-12. Ermann's wedding dresses for big girlss are known for their unusual fabrics and those curvy hooped hemline techniques she uses. Little girls get the treatment on a smaller scale. I'd call this kid couture at it's very best!
